Brief story:
In August 2022, bespoke Spiralix finned-tube radiators were supplied for Studio Paul Vanrunxt in Mechelen, Belgium. The project combines horizontal and vertical configurations, bringing a distinctive industrial detail to a carefully composed interior.
Known as Lou24, the house at Louizastraat 24 dates from the 1960s. Designer Paul Vanrunxt transformed it into a home, design studio and show house with a gallery. His approach combines clean lines, natural materials and traditional craftsmanship to create a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
The renovation strengthened the connection between the interior and the courtyard garden. Pale lime-finished walls and reclaimed timber floors provide a restrained backdrop for furniture and art. The floorboards have a particularly unusual history: they were previously used for ageing Dutch cheese, and their patina was preserved during the renovation.
Within this setting, the rhythmic fins of the Spiralix radiators add texture and contrast, complementing the timber and stone surfaces. Different radiator configurations allow the same design language to continue through rooms with different layouts.
