Aspern Schlössl Vienna: ArtDeco Radiators

Brief story:

A total of 49 Laurens ArtDeco cast iron radiators were supplied for the renovation of Aspern Schlössl at Asperner Heldenplatz 16 in Vienna. Their decorative cast iron design complements the character of the historic property, bringing a traditional approach to heating into the refurbishment of this distinctive Viennese manor house.

Set within grounds of over 3,000 m² in the heart of Vienna’s Aspern district, Aspern Schlössl is a privately owned manor house from the early twentieth century. Associated with the Oberleuthner family, the property reflects the area’s agricultural past, with spacious rooms, a grand staircase and vaulted cellars.

The surrounding neighbourhood has an important place in European history. Nearby St Martin’s Church and the Lion of Aspern memorial recall the Battle of Aspern and Essling in May 1809. Created by sculptor Anton Dominik Fernkorn and erected in 1858, the monument commemorates those who fell in the battle.

The current redevelopment of Aspern Schlössl aims to open the house and gardens to the public as a place for events and social gatherings. The ArtDeco radiators form part of the building’s refurbishment, complementing its historic setting with the character of traditional cast iron heating.
