Brief story:
A bespoke 2.5-metre-long Fleurielle cast iron radiator was installed at Villa Valentine in Aerdenhout, the Netherlands. Realised by our Belgian partner, Laurens Radiatoren, the project brings decorative cast iron heating into an early twentieth-century home.
During renovation, the windows were enlarged and the window sills lowered, leaving the existing radiators unsuitable for the new layout. The custom-length Fleurielle, paired with period-style radiator valves, provided a solution that respected the character of the interior. Its floral relief complements the home’s decorative details, timber flooring and traditional furnishings.
Villa Valentine stands on Oosterduinweg in Aerdenhout, near Haarlem. Its patterned brickwork, tiled roof, projecting bay window and balcony give the house a distinctive appearance. The property forms part of the pair at Oosterduinweg 256β258 recorded in the 1991 Monumenten Inventarisatie Project. Its early twentieth-century origins place it within the growth of Aerdenhout as a villa district, which accelerated after the HaarlemβZandvoort tram line opened in 1899.
