🇨🇿 Prague, Ledebour palais, Boston radiators

Ledebour palace

Brief story:

10 Boston cast iron radiators, paired with Anuova cross-handle valves in a gold finish, were installed at Ledebour Palace in Prague’s Lesser Town. Their classic proportions and traditional valve detailing complement the historic interiors of this palace beneath Prague Castle.

The combination of cast iron radiators and gold-finished fittings gives the heating a considered place within the rooms. Boston’s traditional design suits the architectural setting, while the Anuova cross handles add a distinctive finishing detail.

Ledebour Palace developed from earlier townhouses that were united and substantially rebuilt between 1665 and 1669. Its present appearance, including the main façade, owes much to alterations completed in 1802 to designs by Ignác Jan Nepomuk Palliardi. The palace takes its name from the Ledebour family, who acquired it in 1852. Behind the building, the terraced Ledebour Garden rises towards Prague Castle, connecting the palace with one of the Lesser Town’s remarkable historic garden ensembles.

The building houses offices of the Czech National Heritage Institute (NPÚ), including its Directorate-General. Its role in the care of architectural heritage makes it a particularly fitting setting for heating that respects the character of a historic interior.
