Brief story:
In 2012, Laurens supplied 29 Boston cast iron radiators for the restoration of Martinschlössl in Klosterneuburg, near Vienna. Paired with Old England traditional valves, the radiators bring classic cast iron heating into the interiors of this historic residence in Lower Austria.
The project called for heating that would sit comfortably within the restored rooms. Boston radiators and Old England valves provide a coherent combination of traditional forms and period-inspired details, complementing the building’s character as it was renovated for private residential use.
The palace complex dates from 1766, when two earlier townhouses were incorporated into a larger residence. Subsequent alterations added further architectural layers, including the neo-Baroque street façade and richly detailed interiors. Mansard roofs, landscaped grounds and terraces descending towards the Danube give Martinschlössl its distinctive setting. The 2012 radiator installation forms part of this long history of adapting the property while respecting its architectural heritage.
